ESG RECOGNITION AND OTHER CERTIFICATIONS

 

Lotus Bakeries was awarded an EcoVadis Silver Medal in November 2025 for sustainability performance. Lotus Bakeries ranks in the 89th percentile placing us amongst the top 11%. We value the feedback and have taken steps to further enhance our ESG performance.

 

Lotus Bakeries is a Sedex member with plants in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, South-Africa, US and Thailand. Moreover, we passed a SMETA audit for our Lotus® Biscoff® plants in Belgium, US and Thailand.

Lotus Bakeries has a B on Climate Change, a B on Forest and a B- on Water in 2025. We commit to the feedback and set up action plans to mitigate risks and capitalise on the opportunities that CDP points out. For our full report, click here.

 

The assessment of Lotus Bakeries by Sustainalytics is 25.0* (compared to 27.6 in October 2024). We appreciate the feedback and have taken initiatives in the course of 2025 to further improve our ESG performance.

Lotus Bakeries has been member of RSPO since 2011. At the end of 2025, 100% of our production sites that use palm oil in their production process have been audited and were RSPO certified.

 

100% of the cocoa butter, cocoa mass and chocolate used in our Lotus® Biscoff® chocolate bars, Enkhuizer® and Peijnenburg® products are certified by the Rainforest Alliance.

At the end of 2025, all Lotus Bakeries plants are certified by a GFSI recognised scheme such as the British Retail Consortium (BRC) or International Featured Standards (IFS).
